If this is your first time here, there are some things that you should know.
Our Location:

Sometimes we have a receptionist available to greet you, but if not, don't worry, just look for our intake paperwork on the table as you come in. If you haven't filled in your intake paperwork already you will need a few extra minutes before your first session to complete your forms.
If you have any questions when you arrive, just give us a call. You can reach us at (571) 308-6308
Before Your Appointment:
1. Arrive a few minutes early. People heal fastest when they aren't feeling rushed. Give yourself a few extra minutes.
2. Wear comfortable clothes. You will be in the same position for a while. Don't wear clothing that will make you uncomfortable or distract you. Avoid: Tight belts, shoes, other accessories or clothing; short skirts, low-cut shirts, or clothes that will make you too warm; or anything else that might distract you while in session.
3. Wear light, water-resistant makeup. Sometimes strong emotions come up. You are encouraged to feel them. Crying is natural. Avoid wearing heavy, water-soluble makeup.
4. Take as few medications as possible, but be safe. Medications have the potential to alter your ability to go into a healthy trance. Avoid taking medications, unless they are prescribed, or medically-necessary.
5. Get enough food, water, and rest before coming. Thirst, hunger and tiredness can distract you from a productive session. Take care of yourself.
6. Admit your concerns. It is natural to have concerns about hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Please let your hypnotherapist know about any anxieties you have about the session.
During Your Appointment:
1. Tell your hypnotherapist if you are uncomfortable. If you are uncomfortable in any way, either physically or emotionally, you are encouraged to let your hypnotherapist know if something is distracting or bothering you, even in the middle of hypnosis.
2. Tell your hypnotherapist if you are cold or thirsty. There is no reason that minor discomfort should distract you during your session. Blankets and water are available at any time during your session. Chairs can be adjusted, clothing can be rearranged. Let your hypnotherapist know if anything is distracting you, even in the middle of hypnosis.
3. Tell your hypnotherapist if you are having any trouble with something during your session. Some people have trouble with specific parts of their hypnotherapy. These things are not uncommon, but are specific to each person. Let your hypnotherapist know if you are having trouble understanding, following along, or having doubts about any part of your experience, even in the middle of hypnosis.
4. Trust yourself. The subconscious mind doesn’t think in the same logical way that many people normally do. Your subconscious mind works with metaphors and imagery and relationships that can seem silly or nonsensical. Because hypnotherapy works directly with the subconscious mind, sometimes the things you might be asked to do while in trance may seem silly, or the first answer that comes to mind might seem weird or wrong. Additionally, don't worry too much about having a "good" answer, or whether your personal experience is "normal." Trust your own thoughts and intuition, and if something is still bothering you, let your hypnotherapist know.
